More than 25 members from the EMINENT project consortium celebrated the I Module- Train of Trainers in Port-Au-Prince (Haiti), stretching from Monday 23th September to Wednesday 25th September. This activity was facilitated by experts from the University of Alicante who trained representatives from 5 Higher Educations Institutions (HEIs) of the country on cutting edge issues within the field of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (HE), laying the foundation for the continuity of the capacity building action and adaptation of knowledge to Haiti. Partners were also able to celebrate a project meeting in order to orientate project action in the following months.

Unfortunately, due to the unstable political situation in the country, partners had to terminate earlier the training action, which was foreseen to extend until Friday 27th September. However, EMINENT consortium managed to commit extra-hours during the available days in order to meet the objectives of the training. As such, participants in the event had the opportunity to work on European Standards Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European HE Area, familiarize themselves with the Bologna Process, define the mission, vision and list of services of each Quality Assurance Unit, as well as being introduced to the application of the adaptation of the AUDIT Model to frame their Internal Quality Assurance Systems. Overall, this first set of trainings represented the initial contact of the EMINENT project with the challenging context of Haiti, generating a successful platform of interaction on Quality Assurance practices within the context of Higher Education system of the island.
